Wizards Shine Master as a replacement.
It is with a sad heart that we must announce that after more than 40 years the makers of Astro Shield have closed their doors. They had hoped to sell the company to a buyer that would continue to produce the “World's Finest” Auto Polish but at this time it doesn't look good. Along with several other dealers, we have attempted to contact the company about the purchasing rights but have heard nothing back. After several months of waiting for an update from the new owner or for information about purchasing rights, we are still waiting. And it appears that we may be in for a sad disappointment.
In the mean time we have been searching everywhere for a product that can compare to Astro Shield. If you have used Astro Shield before then we know that you are just as picky about your polish as we are. There are a lot of inferior car waxes and polishes on the market. We know, we've seen more than our fair share of them.
We spent several months searching for a product that we trust on our vehicles. It was a long and tedious search. We sampled several products and tested them on a wide range of surfaces. Then one day, a good friend of ours told us about a polish that he liked. This friend used to be one of the best custom painters in the automotive industry. Back when painting was an art and not done by computers, his skill was unsurpassed. A man helped build the original Batmobile must know what he is doing. So when he told us about a car polish, we listened.
We received several samples of the polish in and tested it on our own cars, trucks, vans, and many more surfaces. We are gearheads. When it comes to our vehicles, we don't settle for anything less than the Best! And after using ONLY Astro Shield on our vehicles for the past several decades, we are pretty tuff to please. I can't believe that I am saying this but I believe we may have found a product that is Better than Astro Shield. It's called…
Wizards has been around for awhile. The company that makes Wizards has been serving show car enthusiasts, fussy customers, and resellers since 1986. They make a wide variety of cleaning and polishing products. And honestly, it is easier to use that Astro Shield.
Now, we do need to tell you that
the bottle is smaller. Wizards Shine Master comes in a 16fl oz bottle while
Astro Shield came in a 32oz can. BUT Wizards Shine Master goes a lot further
and requires a lot less work than Astro Shield.
There are a few differences between the two products that we feel you should know. The chemical composition is very similar but not completely identical. They are both Polishes, not waxes. The Wizards Shine Master is thinner than the Astro Shield was which makes it go on more evenly and smoothly. And you don't have to use as much. I'd say that a 16fl oz bottle of the Wizards Shine Master will probably go almost as far as the 32oz can of Astro Shield. It may do a little less but they come close. And one pleasant difference is the smell. Astro Shield had a strong chemical smell. But the Wizards Shine Master has a sweet smell, almost like cherries. To be honest when we first opened the bottle we thought that we would be in for a disappointment because of the sweet smell. It just didn't seem right that something should smell so sweet and do what we wanted it to. But again, we were pleaseantly supprised.
In addition to the differences in the polishes Wizards makes a wide variety of products to keep your car looking great. The Wizards Wash is amazing. After using it on one of our vehicles it already had a nice shine to it, almost like we had already polished it. They also make a Mist-N-Shine that is perfect for giving your car that just-been-painted new, shinny, finish. The Bug Release is amazing. Just spray it on, let is set for a minute, and wash it off. This is perfect for bikers, truckers, or frequent travelers. Now you don't have to worry about scrubbing the icky, sticky bug goo off. And the Wizards Wipe Down Inspection Detailer is great for that Matte Finish. Many professional body shops will use it to get the dust in debris off between coats of primer and paint.
And one of our personal favorites is the Power Clean. Around the office we call it Formula 410 (Because it knocks Formula 409 out of the ballpark). We have cleaned everything with it and haven't found anything it won't work on yet. We cleaned a spot on the carpet in the office that has been brown for the past 20years only to find that it was originally peach. And I used it at home to remove dust, grit, and grime off the wood baseboards in my kitchen that were behind my stove in my 100yr old house and the Power Clean took it down to the original finish! I also used it to remove some gold-fleck oil paint that I dropped on my linoleum floor. If you have ever messed with gold fleck or any other kind of metal fleck oil paints you know how messy they can be. I had tried everything and nothing worked unil I tried the Power Clean. I did have to let it set and used a bit of elbow grease to get it up, but it worked when nothing else did! And now Wizards is offering their newest product which is called Crud Release. If the Power Clean can be called Formula 410 then the Crud Release should be called Formula 4,000! It is an industrial strenght cleaner. You can put it in your parts washer and just watch the grease, grime, rust and oil just fall off the parts.
We are so sure that you will like Wizards as much (if not more than) Astro Shield that we are offering you a Satisfaction Guarantee. If you order a bottle of Wizards Shine Master and are not satisfied with it then you can return it for a full refund! (You must call within 30 days to get a Return Authorization number BEFORE returning the product to get the full refund). We are very excited about Wizards Shine Master and we are confident that once you try it you will love it.
We will continue to wait for an update on Astro Shield. While it doesn't look too likely that it will ever return, we will still keep hoping. And should it ever become available again we will let you know. But until then, we invite you to try Wizards Shine Master. We guarantee that Astro Shield users will be impressed with Wizards Shine Master Polish!
